Fairway Oaks at Tuscawilla: Our History

It doesn’t take long for residents of our 71-home community of comfortably sized homes, nestled around a single loop of verdant parcels, shaded by majestic oaks and southern magnolias, to understand that the old adage that good things come in small packages applies very aptly to Fairway Oaks.

Our quiet little community, located within Seminole County’s first, planned urban development, the 3500-acres that is Tuscawilla, was established in the mid-1980s. Fairway Oaks homes include the original townhome structures whose individual rooflines, supported by a common wall, architecturally and artfully defy more common, dual-family dwelling stereotypes. Single family structures, whose architectures carefully complement those original designs, blend seamlessly to create our tidy aesthetic that remains a consistently, well-maintained jewel of a neighborhood, conveniently situated along Tuscawilla’s Northern Way loop.

Homes along the outer circle of Royal Oak Drive enjoy stunning views and convenient access to the 14th and 15th greens and fairways of Tuscawilla Country Club’s private, award-winning golf course. Residences situated around the inner circle that connects Oxbow Lane and Royal Oak Drive enjoy the tranquility of the neighborhood’s spring-fed pond where a rich variety of Florida fauna are frequent visitors.

Sandhill cranes, Great Blue herons, Snowy egrets, and White ibis are often seen, stepping stealthily, along the pond’s perimeter, stalking their prey of insects, fish, and small reptiles. The backs of Florida mud turtles commonly dot calm surface water or the water’s edge where they can be found soaking up some of that fabulous, Florida sun.

Oxbow Lane’s outer perimeter homes are sheltered by the stately, brick wall that defines Fairway Oaks’ boundaries along Northern Way. The landscapes along the lane are decorated by dappled sunlight that filters through some of the neighborhood’s most majestic oak trees.

Our neighborhood continues to evolve and welcome a rich mix of residents to its original-owners base; empty-nesters and energetic young families, entrepreneurs and upwardly mobile millenials, seniors and snowbirds, all enjoying life in the Florida sunshine and in the quiet solitude and friendly atmosphere that is synonymous with this little gem of a community.
